Iva Gikova and Ivaylo Nikolov

Iva Gikova and Ivaylo Nikolov graduated in Scenography for Puppet Theater at Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 2011 in the class of Professor Maya Petrova. Since then they work as a team and create Scenography for Puppet Theater and for Drama Theater. So far they have realized over 45 performances in Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Their professional interests are in the field of painting, graphic design, and theater posters.

Both have many nominations and awards for their work including: Ikar for Puppet Spectacle in 2017 for the performance Gelsomino in the Country of Liars, produced by the Puppet Theater of Stara Zagora, and a nomination for the same as independent achievement; Ikar award for Puppet play Tonino the Invisible in 2023 – Puppet Theater of Plovdiv; a nomination for independent achievement in the puppetry art 2015 for The Traded Laughter at the Sofia Puppet Theater; nominations Askeer for Scenography and Costume Design in 2016 for The Caucasian Chalk Circle at Drama Theater of Varna and others.
